Introduction
Today is the Third Sunday OF Easter! I capitalize that on purpose. We are Easter people! We are “of” Easter, from Easter, live and move and have our being because of Easter! It’s the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus dying and rising again. We are Easter people.We gather on this Sunday around this Gospel, where Jesus again appears to the disciples. The first thing Jesus says is “Peace be with you.” It was common in Biblical times to have a greeting when you arrived at someone’s home. If you were coming in peace and not for war or fighting, you announced the reason for your arrival.The reason for Jesus’s arrival is for peace, the holy life-satisfying peace of Christ! May that peace be yours as we come together for worship, on this 3rd Sunday of Easter!
