"The Word of the Lord, thanks be to God!"

This Sunday in our church family offers wonderful insight from Scripture. Please consider deep listening while the lector reads and jot down on your phone or note paper a word or phrase you can let soak inside you during the day, and week. The lector really does an important work for worship in the reading of God's Word. Listen today with the ears of your heart and apply to daily living.

The most often quoted and favorite Psalm 23 is the great message that the Lord is our Shepherd and we need not want! Today in our Second reading from Paul's letter to the church in Philippi (thus Philippians) reminds us the "Lord is near" and as we pray the "peace that passes all understanding" is ours. Isaiah in the first reading offers encouragement "This is the Lord for whom we have waited, let us be glad and rejoice." Now that's a phrase I can meditate on and hold close all day/week. Amen.
