Friendship Bible Study, an excellent opportunity of outreach, meets each Tuesday evening during the school year to share the love of Jesus with adults who have intellectual or developmental disabilities. We have just completed our 23rd year. It is our mission to include these special friends in our church life. Each Tuesday evening, 7-8:30, we meet to share in music, prayer, Bible lessons, games, snacks and fellowship. Our class meets October through mid-May. The majority of our “special” friends are not members at St. Andrew’s. Our class is staffed with volunteers who
also may not be members here but who share in the love of Christ and the willingness to serve in this special ministry. “We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord.”

Volunteers serve as teachers, musicians, prayer leaders, snack givers or simply by sitting with a special friend for the evening. Current volunteers for 2019/2020 are Paula Cardoza-Jones, Rex Jones, Brad Long, Janice and Don Damrow, Kim and Jim Orebaugh, Carol Kussman and Suzy Henschen. Additionally, we have volunteer snack givers that provide food for us during the year. Those volunteers are: Amanda Hunter, MJ Lynch, Julie and Jim Marvel, Nancy Mueller and Kristin Zielinski, Gary Henschen, and Lisa and Chuck Gold. New “friends” and helpers are always welcome. The only requirement is a smiling face and caring heart. Please come join us!

Due to Covid19, our class has ended for the year, but we look forward to returning next fall. There are also opportunities during the summer for us to get together. We have Summer Gatherings, in partnership with Messiah Lutheran Church in July and a dance held here at St. Andrew's in August, also partnering with Messiah.
