Who, these days, isn’t confused about which voices to listen to?

There are times when I’m convinced that the committee who came up with the readings for the three-year cycle of texts that gives our worship a thematic and seasonable focus each week did their work the day before I start to prepare a sermon.  Even though I know that this lectionary list of scripture passages has been around and in use since 1994, I’m frequently amazed at how relevant and timely they are.  This week is one of those.
