Friends:
The vote Sunday at the Annual Meeting was to move forward with Holy Closure of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. We had a presentation of the budget for this year with a projected deficit of $70,000. A lot was discussed and prayed about, and a real highlight was adding Chris Willman to the Church Council. (As always, your Council is here to serve.) Please call any of them if you have questions about our church finances or anything administrative.
I personally believe this is the right decision "given" where we are with our congregation: financially, with the building update and upkeep, and the personnel to do the ministry itself. Now, we must carry the flag, as it were, forward until that last day at our future Closing Worship (date not known yet). We will continue to staff the Clothes Closet and need your help.
We will continue to worship our Lord and Savior and need you to join your family of faith. Let us stay together, continue serving the Lord and loving, praying and supporting each other! See you tonight and next Sunday, only @ 10 more weeks until time changes again and St. A goes back to 11).
TOP THREE THINGS TO KNOW THIS WEEK:
1) Ash Wednesday, tonight 6 p.m. Soup supper, 7 service. We keep these same times and rotate location through Lent: Feb. 25 at Faith, March 4 St. Andrew’s, etc. Remember during Lent we will study Power Surge, where the consonants remind us of what makes a disciple (follower) of Jesus: Pray Worship, Read the Bible, Serve, Relate to others at church, and Give.
2) Clothes Closet needs Boys/Men's Clothes of all sizes. Please see Jeannie Hermerding to confirm. Drop off by Wednesday afternoon. Thank you in advance, and volunteers please sign up on table in the narthex. Next Closet, 2/28.
3) Faith Formation, Sunday evenings at 7, will begin to study the Lenten devotional books this Sunday, Feb. 22. The Zoom link comes out during the day or talk to Pastor or Jim. Join us for a relaxed hour of growth in our faith walk.
God be with you until we meet again
