Friends:

In case you wondered, this past Sunday I was at Faith for their Annual Meeting! The Shared Ministry agreement calls for me to get a sub, when the other church has a congregational meeting. I thank Jamie for leading the liturgy, Pr. Rex for an excellent message and Suzanne for lovely singing!

We are in a transitional time in the church. This Sunday will be the last one in the Epiphany Season and it's called Transfiguration Sunday. We "bookmark" the Epiphany season with Bible stories of God speaking. In the Baptism of our Lord Sunday God proclaims the same thing God says in the Transfiguration: "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased!" However, on the Transfiguration God adds: "Listen to Him!"

Let us listen, deeply to the leading of the Lord. For us as individuals and for the congregation. We listen deeply with the ears of our hearts, and we follow!

TOP THREE THING TO KNOW FOR THE END OF FEBRUARY/ BEGINNING OF MARCH:

1) Ash Wednesday, March 5th, with a 6 p.m. soup supper and 7 p.m. worship service. Please sign up on the table in narthex if you can help by providing something for the meal.

2) This (number 1 above) begins the season of Lent, and the devotionals are on the table in the narthex. Help yourselves, and please know that every Sunday evening in Lent starting March 9th at 7 on Zoom, we will study the prior week's devotions together. All are welcomed, especially if you have never attended before, or attended once or twice and stopped. We'd love to see you again, talk with Pastor or Jim Patton who leads the program.

3) Join me in prayer for our New Council as we have our first meeting this Thursday night at church. (btw, these are open to anyone from the congregation to come). Please pray for me, Jamie, Jim, Amanda, Mark, Matt, Darren, and Karen.

God be with you until we meet again,

Pastor Doug
