Friends:
Our Summer sermon series on the Fruits of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22, has concluded! My purpose in bringing that forward was to lift up these beautiful gifts of the Holy Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control! Remember them in your daily journey with the Lord, as these are gifts given to share.

Thanks to everyone who stayed after church and attended the pitch-in Sunday, the 11th. As service concluded we introduced the concept of "Reconciled in Christ" via a video from the ELCA. This term simply tells the world what we as St. Andrew's already know: all are welcomed! We will not judge, and people of all races, color, creed, sexual identity are welcomed at St. Andrew's. The pitch-in discussions didn't identify any concerns putting this before the congregation in the near future.

Some of you may have noticed that I give part of a wafer in Holy Communion to the younger Hermerding girls. I have talked with their parents and what I am doing is 1) making sure the girls feel included, and 2) giving from the larger broken wafer I use....so really sharing my Communion wafer with the girls. The looks on their faces makes it all worthwhile!

Clothes Closet can use boys/men's clothing donations of all sizes! Volunteers help sort and prepare on Wednesday afternoon. Watch the bulletin announcement for more specific kinds of needs.

Thank you to Jan Smith and the Fellowship Team for making the funeral dinner Tuesday for the Hunter family so special. It is what we do here at St. Andrew's: give healing comfort to others in a time of need.

Faith Formation, Sunday nights at 7, will move to second and fourth Sunday beginning Sept. 8.
Look elsewhere in this newsletter for the name of the next book we will study. All are welcomed.
TOP THREE THINGS TO KNOW FOR THIS WEEK OF AUGUST 14:
1) Wednesday night Bible study continues tonight, 7 p.m., use link provided.
2) Service time changes to 9 a.m. beginning September 1! The Adult "Coffee and Conversation" will meet after services at 10 a.m. (give or take, depending how long the sermon is...lol).
3) We are a praying community of faith! Pray for Gage and Jessica, parents of Raelee the 6-month-old baby whose funeral was yesterday. Pray for Pat at Brownsburg Healthcare, and those named in our prayer section of the bulletin/newsletter. Pray for discussions with St. John Episcopal and St. Andrew's along with Pr. Nancy from Synod office to discern God's will for us both together.
God be with you until we meet again!
